Zayn Malik’s mother has been left defending her actions after liking a comment on Instagram which slammed her son’s ex-girlfriend Perrie Edwards.

It all kicked off when Trisha Malik shared a picture of a gorgeous bouquet of flowers Zayn and current girlfriend Gigi Hadid had sent her to celebrate the opening of her brand new salon in Bradford, but as is wont to happen online these days, Zayn’s stans took over the comments section, claiming that Perrie had treated Zayn badly and that Gigi is much more supportive of Zayn.

Trisha then liked several comments leading to a backlash from Little Mix fans that caused Trisha to respond.

‘I honestly don’t have anything against Perrie, I never have n I never will ,’ she wrote.

‘This is the reason I don’t come on to social media, because everything u do always gets blown up in to some big drama (sic). I didn’t like this comment ,I must of pressed it by mistake as I was going through them, so please don’t say things about me that r not true .’

Perrie alleged that Zayn dumped her by text, despite his claims to the contrary, after the pair split in August 2015 after two years together, and a short-lived engagement.

In Our World, Little Mix’s autobiography, the blonde singer also wrote that the end of her engagement to the former One Direction star during the summer of 2015 was ‘the worst time of [her] life’.
