Arsenal will demand £42 million for Hector Bellerin as Barcelona have made the right-back their priority transfer target this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Mundo Deportivo claim that the 22-year-old is wanted by Barcelona and Manchester City, but the defender’s first-choice destination is his former club.
The report claims that the Gunners have no desire to sell Bellerin, but if the player requests a transfer, they would rather let the defender leave for Barcelona instead of City.
Bellerin is reportedly aware that he is Barcelona’s first-choice candidate to fill their right-back position in the long term.
Mundo Deportivo also report that Bellerin’s potential move to Barcelona would be boosted if Arsene Wenger is to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
Bellerin has a positive relationship with the Frenchman, who paved the way for the Spaniard to become a first-team regular at Arsenal just three years after joining as a 16-year-old from Barcelona.
‘The loyalty to this person is worth more than money, it’s something very important to me,’ Bellerin said in March.
