A statement by the institution’s Assistant Registrar (Academic Affairs), Mr. AbdulRahman Muhammad, and made available to journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Monday, said the expulsion of the affected students was sequel to the approval of the report of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee, in accordance with section 14.2 of the Students Regulations.
According to the statement, the affected students are Imam Murthado Olanrewaju, with Matriculation Number HND/14/AE/FT/019, who was expelled for alleged assault on a member of staff and alleged disruption of official activities; and Elebiju Rotimi, with Matriculation Number HND/14/SLT/FT/095, for alleged theft of clothe and hacking of the owner.
The statement added that Adam AbdulAzeez, T. with Matriculation Number ND/14/QTS/FT/022; Muhammed Habeeb O., with Matriculation Number ND/14/COM/FT/461; and Khalid Olamilekan R., with Matriculation Number ND/14/PA/FT/56, were all expelled for alleged destruction of school property.
It added that the authorities of the institution had also approved that Olutayo Oluwatobi Elizabeth, with Matriculation Number HND/15/BF/FT/233, be suspended from the polytechnic for one semester (2nd semester 2015/2016 session) for alleged unruly behaviour against a member of the Dress Code Committee, while the result of Toluwaleke Gbenga Adeniyi, with Matriculation Number ND/14/PA/FT/532, be withheld pending his appearance before the students Disciplinary Committee for a case of alleged destruction of polytechnic property.
The statement added that all the affected students were to vacate the polytechnic campuses and hand over all the school property in their custody to their respective Heads of Department.
