Detectives at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), of the Lagos state Police Command, are interrogating the suspects, Miss Believe and Agatha.
A mother of three, who claimed she had lived in Nigeria for 17 years, said she organized the abduction of the little girl to be able to raise money to shop for some of the most sophisticated cosmetics and make-ups.
“I am a Ghanaian and I am married with three children. I used to work as a nanny in an embassy some years back. Things have been quiet tough and business wasn’t moving as expected,
so I needed N30, 000 to buy my make-ups. I love to make ups, so after much thought on how to make some money, I decided to kidnap my friend’s daughter.
“I called my friend Agatha and shared my plan with her. She agreed to abduct the child while I made arrangements on how to contact the parents of the child for ransom.
“It worked out as we planned. Agatha kidnapped the child while she was going to school.
She took her to Ogun State. I had started requesting for ransom before the police picked me up in my house. I had no intention to do the child any harm.“I needed just N30, 000 for the make-ups and other personal effects. Just that small amount and I have spoilt my family name.”
“My husband used to give me money, but this period is very critical.”
