BUK: Varsity lecturer abducted in Kaduna

Alhaji AliyuKiri was abducted by unknown gunmen on his way from Oyo to Kano state.

A lecturer of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology of Bayero University Kano, (BUK), has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Kaduna State.

The victim, Alhaji AliyuKiri, was reportedly abducted while he was on his way back to Kano from Oyo State, where he had been supervising Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme, (SIWES).
The vehicle in which the lecturer was travelling in was reportedly attacked by the gunmen around the Birnin-Gwari area Kaduna state, Daily Trust reports.
Lecturers, as well as students of the varsity, have received text messages from the Faculty Social Director, Shuaibu Abdulrasheed.
The message reads in part, “Our colleague, Saminu Aliyu Kiri (FCSIT staff ) has been kidnapped on his way back from SIWES supervision at Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. Let’s pray for his safe and immediate release.”

The Director of Public Affairs of the University, Alhaji Ahmed Shehu has unreachable for questions since the incident was revealed.
