The 24-year-old suffered a ‘slight patella problem’, which ruled him out of the Gunners’ last pre-season matches but he has now returned to training ahead of Sunday’s match with Liverpool.
The midfielder hinted that he might not be involved against Jurgen Klopp’s men but if Arsene Wenger calls upon him, he’s ready to go.
‘I picked up a little knee injury, nothing serious, and now I am back in light training and am looking forward to the start of the Premier League,’ he told Sky Sports.
‘It is a light one this time, I know my body quite well now and I know when I pick up a little injury what to do.
‘As I said, I’m feeling good and we’ll see at the weekend, that might come too soon but if the boss picks me, I’ll be ready.’
Wenger also discussed Wilshere’s recent injury troubles and he revealed he was impressed with his progress.
‘He has a very big year ahead – I must say his preparation was encouraging,’ he said.
‘He had a little setback recently but its looks very minor and of course for us to have a great season it is important to have a great Jack Wilshere.’
