Floyd Mayweather gives massive hint he could come out of retirement

Could Floyd Mayweather be about to come out of retirement?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER put out hints that he may return to the ring just before the Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez against Amir Khan fight week kicks off.

It is almost as if the star of Las Vegas does not want anyone taking his spotlight with him out of the picture for the time being.

Alvarez and Khan are set to go toe-to-toe for the WBC middleweight title at the new T-Mobile Arena on the Strip this Saturday night.

It is on the ‘Cinco de Mayo’ weekend which is a Mexican holiday but has become a big date in the boxing diary.

Mayweather had owned the date for the last few years, but with the pound-for-pound great now in retirement his rival Oscar De La Hoya has secured it for his star man Alvarez.

So it came as no surprise that the American was happy to put out hints to the media in Washington when he was ringside for his man Badou Jack’s WBC super-middleweight title defence against Lucian Bute.

He claimed there have been talks with broadcasters Showtime and CBS in America.

Then ESPN reported Mayweather Promotions has filed to get “TBE 50” and “TMT 50” patented.

Mayweather would extend his record to 50-0 if he had another fight.

Who he would fight is unknown, but WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia is just one name that has been mentioned.

Many did not believe he would end on 49 fights, but now everyone is awaiting his comeback.

The fact he is putting out hints at the start of this week seems too much of a coincidence.

Mayweather will not want someone else being the star of the Strip.

Especially not a fighter promoted by De La Hoya as the pair constantly trade insults.

The Amercian will be back to reclaim the crown as king of Las Vegas for sure.

But for now expect more hints over the coming days as the clock ticks down towards the biggest fight of the year.
