American Afgan commander apologizes for errant strikes

General john nicholson speaks during the cahange of command ceremony in resolute support HQ in kabul Afghanistan. 

The new command of the US led nato forces has apologized for the US airstrike on a hospital in kunduz that killed 42 people. 
General nicholson met in kunduz with the representative of the charity doctors without borders and the family members of the deceased to express his condolences of what he described as "horrible tragedy" 
The incident occured in october 3 in which a US air force AC-130 gunship attacked the hospital killing doctors, patients among others.
